Prenatal Testing

Prenatal testing should be done on all pregnant women in order to alleviate, if not eliminate conplicated pregnancies. If there are any embryo abnormalities, the prenatal testing procedure will enable the parents to be aware of the problem before the infant is born, so that they can prepare themselves for caring for the infant properly. In today's society, with advanced technology easily accessible, there is no reason for pregnant women not to receive prenatal testing.

I am with you on this one. Not only can this test let you know of complications but it can also help to prepare the parents for a baby that may need special attention. I would want to know this information just so I could get what I needed ahead of time and not be racing around after the birth to get things my baby needed.

It is true that prenatal testing can enable you to better prepare for something
if the child is ill, but the underlying issue reigns in that many people hear
there is something wrong with their child and they terminate the pregnancy
instead of keeping it. In numerous cases each year, they are actually aborting a
healthy child, because those tests are not always totally accurate. In some
cases, the amniotic fluid carries the gene with the disorder or condition, while
the fetus does not. I, myself do not agree with the ending of the pregnancy no
matter what the child has, because that is still your child (a little living
person), so if there is something wrong with my baby I would make sure the child
had the best and longest life possible. I am currently pregnant and due in
April, and choose not to have prenatal testing done, because for me it will not
matter and I will love that child no matter what. I am having my child at a
hospital with a neonatal unit incase there is something wrong though.

Great article brief and to the point; with technology, there is no reason for a woman to forego prenatal care and risk damaging the life of her baby. “Prevention is better than cure,” with prenatal care a woman experiences a sense of peace, in knowing the baby growing inside her is healthy. Prenatal care also offers adequate preparation towards childbirth.
